Maverick likes to call himself an old soul. But I don't think he actually knows what that means. He's constantly saying things that he thinks makes him seem intellectual without actually knowing what he's saying. Just go with it though, and hopefully you can understand him through his accent. 

He spends his days working as a mechanic and rummaging through his junkyard. His favorite thing to do is build hybrid cars from the scraps people leave behind. Maverick has been working with cars his whole life but gets nervous on roads. He's rather take his Pontoon boat everywhere he needs to go. Otherwise, he just stays home or goes to Beau's restaurant to help fix any kitchen equipment that may be broken. Maverick isn't too good with interaction from others. He comes off as rather gruff and tough even though he's not and thus Maverick chooses to not talk to many new people.

Currently, Maverick is seeing a rather lovely girl named Dewey. Her extroverted personality is perfect for him. And he'll often double-date with Chowder and Shenzie (she introduced him to Dewey). Dewey seems to be just about the only person who can understand Maverick's accent without asking him to have to repeat himself.
