Her life had been leading up to a moment that felt thrust upon her. Colel, the eldest Jaguar princess to the Mistontli temple family, did not want what her family had for generations before. She wanted a free life, to choose her own path. Her aunt, Reise, had been cast out from the throne's glory after denouncing her title and leaving to take refuge nearby. This life, although lonely, spoke to Colel in a deep way. Every day her father was more eager for her to leave offerings to their god herself. She was not fond of this idea, and stole away into the surrounding jungle for hours on end. Often, it was her younger brother who would come out and fetch her at request of their father. As the months went on, these outings were less frequent and Colel was finding herself closer to making a decision that would span the rest of her life time.

Her father did take notice of Colel's disinterest in dealing with their god and did his best to be sensitive, hoping she would come around with age.

A TALE AS OLD AS TIME

TEMPLE

TRUSTEE

Every great historical monument needs a guardian. Citlali was charged by Aztex to be the guardian of this temple, to be its charge til every last pebble has crumbled into the wind. With this responsibility comes the power to travel through time - unfortunately locked to the line of the temple. Citlali can only be released when the temple ceases to exist.

While guarding the temple during the 20th century, Citlali spotted a cute boy wandering away from his college guided tour. With awe, the boy toured the temple and marveled at the wonderful architecture, locked in place by the overgrowth of nature. His love of the temple fueled a deeper love in Citlali for this boy. It was an instant infatuation Citlali had never felt before.

Citlali found himself visiting that day over and over again, hoping the boy would notice him. One time, he decided to stay a little longer and found that the boy had come back the following day. And every day for the next week! It took a lot of courage, but one day Citlali worked up the nerves to speak to the boy. Unfortunately it became very apparent that there was a language barrier, one that would make it a struggle for these two to talk. That didn't stop Citlali from still visiting the modern time to see this boy, sit next to him, and enjoy the quiet majesty of the temple.

Overtime, Mars (the boy) would learn Citlali's language and the two would have a rudimentary means of communication. They were enamored with each other but Mars remained stuck in his timeline, not able to go anywhere with Citlali...yet!
